Stax Recording Studios The site of the original Stax recording studio is now a must see museum. Soul artists just starting out recorded and refined their sound at Stax. Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, and Rufus Thomas were among the many to record here. I learned about and bought a CD by Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Check her out, she was Johnny Cash's favorite guitar player. It was very cool seeing the track sheets and the recording gear that they recorded "Shaft" on. While we're
