My Summer Vacation to Memphis

The Peabody Ducks

The Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis is to expensive to stay in unless you are rich. Rich people must find it very cool to see farm animals walk in their midst.

Twice a day with much fan fare, pomp, and circumstance, the ducks are escorted by elevator to and from the fountain down in the lobby.

Get there early and use your elbows. There are mean kids and i'm not kidding when i say i saw a middle aged lady push a lady in a wheel chair out of her way for a better view of the ducks.

In the same lobby as the ducks is the Lansky Brothers store. Elvis bought all of his stage clothes at Lansky Bros. and Bernard Lansky helped Elvis create that look.

While Holly was jockying for position in the duck line, I walked in and checked out all of the spendy shirts. While i'm thumbing through the rack Bernard Lansky walked up to me and asked me if I needed any help. I thought that was cool.

Was it worth it?
Seeing the ducks is free (maybe American's are still smart enough not to pay to watch ducks walk?). and you get to see the Lansky Bros store. So, yes, it's worth it.

That was so much fun, you should consider....
