My Summer Vacation to Memphis

Beale Street is to the Blues as Bourbon Street is to Jazz.

We spent almost every Memphis night on Beale Street. Great food, superior music and friendly people.

I'm from Washington State where we have goofy drinking laws. It's great to go to a town where you can carry your drinks down the street from bar to bar. I don't know why, but I like that a lot.

There are many cool night clubs on Beale, but our favorite was the "Blues Hall Juke Joint" they had the most smokin blues bands every night. There was no cover, the drinks were cheap, and the bartenders were greased lightning.

We saw the Plantation All Stars and The Dr. Feelgood Potts Band (Pictured).

Was it worth it?
If you like music, eating, or drinking, you'll love Beale Street. Every Wednesday night Beale Street is filled with hundreds of Harley Davidsons. Bikers from all over the country meet there on Wednesdays. So make sure you go on Wednesday night or stay away, depending on your love for Harleys.

One night, on Beale, we met some Memphis locals who told us about Graceland Too. We'll go there in another page or two, but first just walking distance around the corner from Beale Street is....
