KUGS 89.3

May 2004 The Corner Pocket radio show plays and reviews Fanny Alger:

"In many respects, Fanny Alger is Skagit Valley’s answer to California’s Offspring. Both are exceptionally talented bands with amazing sense of pop/punk. Both bury their tongues deep within their check. Both have lead singers with attractive, scratchy vocals. Both are really funny, often by design, but often just by default.

I am excited to see Fanny Alger live. I imagine I will have a kick-ass time dancing, throwing my fists in the air and, heck, I just might chip in a buck when they sing “getting jiggy with it/Fanny Alger says/we got our hand out/put some money in it…” It is nice to hear some “good-times” punk rock able to smile at itself and not so hell-bent on its own hedonistic self-destruction. Very refreshing, and just in time for Spring!"

In the Bellingham, WA area, tune into the Corner Pocket every Monday Night from 8-10PM and request your favorite Fanny Alger Hymn!

Maximum Rock & Roll

May 2004 Maximum Rock & Roll reviews Fanny Alger:

"Fanny Alger Great Big Huge Co. Inc. Ltd. Unltd. CD
The punchy drums help define FANNY's power pop corporate genius. The heavily reverbed vocals have the sass of the SURF PUNKS and at times the music is right there too. If the SURF PUNKS became obsessed with corporate themes, they would've sounded like this. Pretty cool disc. (HM)"

KISM 92.9 FM

February 8th 2004 Fanny Alger did a live in-studio interview for KISM's Northwest music show "Local's Only". Celebrity host Pooner Clark describes Fanny Alger as:

"a bunch of loonies who preach a twisted form of social consciousness."

You can hear Fanny Alger from time to time on Local's Only. Call and request a song!!

In the Pacific Northwest you can tune into Locals Only on Sunday Nites at 8PM on KISM 92.9FM

November 23, 2001 Nathan Lindberg describes "Renaissance man" and Fanny Alger Board Member Quinn K. Thompson.

"Fanny Alger has labeled its music Gospel-Porno-Punk-Lava Rock. When asked what that means, Thompson said, 'I don’t know, we just like saying that.'"

2001 Tony Ruland lays down the law: "Fanny Alger isn’t even close to being your every day rock band. Thanks to some wacky lyrics and crazy synthesizer sounds that may draw many comparisons to Devo. They’re sound is hard to put under any one genre.... whatever you end up calling them it still rocks."

Skagit Valley Herald
